Cognizant net income in fourth quarter up 28%

Infosys to design informatics for U.S. biotech company
Infosys Technologies and San Francisco-based Elan Pharmaceuticals Thursday formally announced a partnership agreement under which the Indian software giant will design and implement a new research informatics system (RISe) for the latter.

Zylog acquires Canadian firm for Rs 150 crore
Zylog Systems, Chennai based Global technology integrator and business solution provider with more than 2000 employees worldwide, has announced the acquisition of Brainhunter, a consulting and engineering services company in Canada for Canadian Dollar 35 Million (Rs 150 crore).
It was done through the company’s creditors arrangement Act ( CCAA) bidding process where Zylog emerged as the successful bidder. The 20 year old Canadian company has major presence in Government, telecom, BFSI and oil & pipeline verticals.
Genpact acquires Symphony Solutions
Genpact, the country’s largest pure-play business process outsourcing (BPO) company, today acquired Bangalore-based analytics and data management services provider Symphony Marketing Solutions (SMS). Though the deal size was not disclosed, analysts peg the deal to be around Rs 450-500 crore and the SMS’ revenue to be around Rs 300 crore.
